OK, so this is 100% not conspiracy theory or tin-foil hat territory anymore.
U.S President Donald Trump and the Department of War have historically blown the lid off the secrecy and dramatically released the first batch of ‘UFO files’.
Some said it would never happen, some still say it’s a ‘nothing burger’, but whatever they say, this is real.
This release proves there has been a definitive effort to keep information on UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon), commonly known as UFOs, secret for decades and locked away from the public.
Of course, there is still no proof that the details released are Non-Human Intelligence (NHI) or ‘alien’, but it cannot be denied that many of these details have been kept away from the public.
Why have these details been kept hidden away, and what can we learn from this batch of released files?
Well, in this article, we look at just that.
Here goes…
Proof – Conspiracy Theorists Were Justified
A statement on the War.gov website by Pete Hegseth reads:
CLEARED FOR RELEASE – MAY 8, 2026
STATEMENT: “The Department of War is in lockstep with President Trump to bring unprecedented transparency regarding our government’s understanding of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena.
These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation – and it’s time the American people see it for themselves.
This release of declassified documents demonstrates the Trump Administration’s earnest commitment to unprecedented transparency.” -United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
Before we even start digging into the files, the statement from Hegseth and the Department of War makes it clear that the speculation on the topic is ‘justified’.
Some are saying this is a big fat ‘nothing burger’, but the release of the files and the accompanying statement is without doubt historic in itself.
Bearing in mind that only a few years ago, the government flatly denied even investigating UFOs formally. We have to take this as a huge step towards the truth.
The Files
The first batch of material contains 161 files, including PDFs, VIDs and IMGs. Obviously, there are too many to list everything in this article, but we will take a look at the most interesting here.
The PDF files contain reams and reams of eyewitness testimonies and FBI correspondence dating from the 1940s to the 2020s.
There are also newspaper clippings of some of the accounts.

The Most Interesting Images
The most interesting images have to be the images from the Apollo Moon Missions.
These are of particular interest because NASA’s stance on the topic has always been that there is absolutely no evidence of anything anomalous in space. Everything seen can be easily explained by natural phenomena, satellites or space debris.
In 2023, NASA conducted its own research and published a report on UAP, which essentially said ‘nothing to see here’. There was no mention of anomalous objects during the moon landings.
These declassified images obliterate that stance entirely:
When looking at these images, we have to bear in mind that in 1969, there were no satellites orbiting the moon.
So whatever these ‘objects’ are, they are unidentified, anomalous, and questions need to be asked of NASA.
There are also statements in the released files detailing “flashing lights” that the astronauts saw.
The Transcript states:
“When you look out of the ADT in the dark quadrant? You can see these lights – particles of light…
But it looks like some of these things are escaping from the moon. They really haul out of here and press off at the stars.”
The second image from the Apollo 17 moon landing in 1972 shows three points of light forming a triangle overlooking the lunar surface.
Some may dismiss these as reflections or space debris of some kind, but interestingly, we have recently seen peer-reviewed scientists such as Dr Beatriz Villarroel make similar claims of ‘transients’ or points of light surrounding the earth in the 1950s.
Villarroel found evidence of similar points of light while studying historical photographic plates from telescope observations dating back to the 1950s.
Many mainstream scientists have treated Dr Villarroel’s work with scepticism, but these images seem eerily similar to Villarroel’s findings.
Coincidence? Maybe, but these declassified images are another official data point leaning towards the possibility that there may be a ‘there there’.

Most Interesting Videos
There are many videos forming the batch of 161 files. Unfortunately, many of these videos are blurry, hard to make out and could realistically be prosaic in nature.
However, there are a couple that do appear to show ‘anomalous’ behaviour and are clear enough to possibly warrant further investigation.
These videos are not to be confused with the 46 videos demanded by U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna, with an April 14th 2026 deadline. We still await those.

UAP-PR34-Unresolved-UAP-Report-Greece-October-2023
This video, although very grainy and blurry, shows an object making a number of 90- degree turns at speed.
The UFO Files state:
The United States Central Command submitted a report of an unidentified anomalous phenomenon (UAP) to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), consisting of two minutes and 57 seconds of video footage from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in 2023. An accompanying mission report, DoW-UAP-D33, described the UAP as flying near the surface of the ocean and making multiple “90-degree turns” at approximately 80 miles per hour.
Interestingly, the video was reported to the All Domain Resolution Office (AARO). Their website shows a number of similar sightings, most of which are also over the ocean.

This video is quite clear, and a white ‘orb’ like object can be seen moving with no form of visible propulsion over the buildings in Iraq.
The UFO Files state:
The United States Central Command submitted a report of an unidentified anomalous phenomenon to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), consisting of ten seconds of video footage from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in 2022. An accompanying mission report, DoW-UAP-D18, described the UAP as “flying west to east.”
Video Description: The video depicts an area of contrast moving from the bottom left to the top right of the sensor field-of-view. At approximately six seconds, the area of contrast leaves the sensor field-of-view near the top right corner of the frame.
We have seen many of these ‘orb’ type of videos before from AARO, many of which remain unresolved.

These videos show that the sightings are from all over the world and debunk sceptics’ questioning as to why the majority of sightings are located in or around the United States.
Whatever this is, it’s occurring worldwide.
The Most Interesting Documents
As stated earlier in this article, there are way too many documents to go into here.
Hundreds of PDFs, newspaper clippings and eyewitness accounts from the FBI are of historical interest since many date back to the 1940s,1950s and 1960s.
What the documents do show is the sheer number of sightings and eyewitness testimony that have been given over the years by the public.
Bear in mind, this is just a very small part of all the documents that are likely to be released.
The number of eyewitnesses of UAP spans decades, and while many are shown to be meteors, weather balloons or other explainable natural phenomena. A fraction remains unexplained.
One document that caught attention was a document marked “SECRET”
With the Address Parliament Street BO, London SW1.
The document appears to be from a UK Government source.
The letter reads:
You may be interested to know that we have learnt from a delicate source that J.J.A Henessy, 36 Elvaston Place South Kensington SW7, claiming to be an Associate Member of the National Investigating Committee on Aerial Phenomena, has been in contact in mid April 1967 with (Redacted)
He has drawn attention to the U.S. Government grant to the University of Colorado to investigate unidentified flying objects with a view to establishing whether there is any pattern available in the evidence available to suggest that interplanetary vehicles are reaching this planet from some extraterrestrial source. The investigations are being conducted under the chairmanship of Dr Edward U. Condon of the Physics and Astrophysics Dept of the University.
Edward Uhler Condon (March 2, 1902 – March 26, 1974) was U.S. nuclear physicist, a pioneer in quantum mechanics.
Condon is known for his work on an official U.S investigation by the Air Force on UFOs released in 1968.
The Condon Report concluded that there was nothing to the UFO topic.
So why the secret file and the interest by the UK Government?
What Does it All Mean?
The release of these UFO files shows that, as a matter of fact, the public has been kept in the dark regarding certain aspects of the UFO phenomenon.
NASA, in particular, may come under heavy scrutiny for their past denials of anomalous phenomena in space, when it’s clear that there are photos and written testimonies from astronauts detailing the very things denied.
What this means for entrepreneurs and the rest of the world is that it’s highly likely that interest in the topic will grow even more.
In fact, if better evidence or undeniable proof is brought forward in the future, the topic could go stratospheric.
Even if nothing more interesting is revealed, it seems there is no sign of interest in the topic waning. The Department of War indicates that they have had in excess of 340 million views in just 12 hours.
Entrepreneurs who incorporate the topic into their marketing or business plans could do very well indeed as more ‘UFO files’ are revealed, and as the trend is likely to continue upwards.
Why the Secrecy and Why Now?
The secrecy could be for a variety of reasons:
a) The sheer volume of data and public interest. Previous governments may have closed down the topic in order to prevent overwhelming the system with the administrative burden of dealing with the issue. This could be true whether the issue has validity or not.
b) There could be so much more to the topic. If the information had been revealed in its entirety in the past, it could have led to overdue concern at a time when the public consciousness was not ready to cope. (i.e. post -1940s wartime and cold war era).
c) The public needed to be ready for the truth. It could be simply that the public is finally ready to accept the concepts that could be contained in the files. Belief in ‘alien’ life has grown to 34% according to YouGov America (2022). That figure has more than likely increased since then.
d) The deception and secrecy have run their course. The final possibility is that there has been so much speculation, lies and secrecy over the decades, that there’s more of a threat to the establishment if the topic is kept under wraps.
Trust in government and establishment elites is at an all-time low. Not revealing our true reality would continue to erode that trust.
Criticism
Of course, we cannot lay down such fantastical information without a healthy dose of criticism.
The main criticism of the UFO document release is that the majority of the released videos are very underwhelming, grey, and to be frank, dull. Many of these sightings could be due to natural phenomena.
Sceptics will have a field day with this type of material, often debunking these ‘anomalous’ videos within hours or days.
One such example is this video:

The video appears to show a tantalising ‘star-shaped’ UAP.
However, under closer inspection, if we let the video play, we can clearly see a dark canopy or parachute-type object enter the frame on the left.
It’s important to remember that these images are infrared and therefore may not show the exact properties of the physical object in question.
Objects like parachutes or tethers may appear translucent, even invisible.
It is clear that the video shows a bright light source strung from some kind of parachute.
So, it’s important to treat infrared images with caution. They can distort the actual physical properties of the object, depending on it’s heat or surface reflection properties.
This criticism does not negate the validity of the more compelling videos, but it’s important to proceed with caution with this type of ‘evidence’.
The first batch of UFO files does not appear to show any undeniable proof of NHI or ‘alien origin’. Although there is plenty of subjective ‘evidence’ that hints at that possible conclusion.
Another criticism levelled is that all this is a distraction to deflect from the harsh realities going on in the world right now.
While this could be true, we have to bear in mind that there has been a concerted effort by proponents of the topic for many years.
The movement began in the early 2000s, and following that, another effort began in 2017.
This is not an ‘off the cuff’, throw-away decision made by U.S President Donald Trump. It is clear that serious consideration has gone into the matter.

Final Thoughts
It cannot be denied that the release of the UFO files is a historic moment.
Many previous U.S. administrations have tried and failed to keep promises on this topic.
Interest in the subject has skyrocketed once more, with the Department of War reporting in excess of 340 million views in 12 hours on their website alone.
Savvy entrepreneurs would be wise to take on board the reality that this trend is unlikely to die down anytime soon.
However, it’s important that we remain grounded. While the information released is interesting and may open up more questions of other U.S agencies (in particular, NASA), it’s important to understand that the sheer volume and lack of detail in the video evidence can lead to misidentification of seemingly mundane objects.
As such, the released information shows no definitive proof of NHI or ‘alien’ origin.
I guess we will have to wait for the next release.
